About Eric

Eric Schlehlein is an author and freelance writer, passionate about most things Americana.  Signed to a contract with Deeds Publishing, LLC, his first novel, Black Iron Mercy, is now available for purchase.  His second novel, The Dim White Light, is just weeks from completion.

Eric has dedicated more than half of his life to serving others, first as a caregiver and group home manager for the developmentally disabled, the emotionally disturbed, and the mentally ill, and has now served his community as a lieutenant on the local fire department for more than fifteen years.  He’s also been known to deliver a hot, fresh pizza at a quick pace and fair profit.

As a two-time campaign manager, Eric is well-versed in political speak and has experience in writing political propaganda and speeches.

In 2009 he and his son invented a new sport, “Frizz,” that combines Frisbee and baseball.  The Lake Country Frizz Association was born, and they’ve now entered their seventh season of league play this spring. YOU are welcome to come and play with them.  It’s free.  Feel free to contact Eric for more information. In 2012 Eric authored and copyrighted a 78 page rule book, entitled “Frizz Rules and Regulations.”  If you’re interested in seeing how the game works, you can download the rules for free here:  Frizz Rules

Besides his service to the Lake Country Frizz Association as President and Chief Executive Officer, Eric is also the President of the Hartland Firefighters Association, Inc., a non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving the membership of the fire department and the community it serves through various charitable endeavors.

In 2013 Eric wrote the script for “Align on the Colors, Close up on the Colors,” a nine part documentary on the charge of the 6th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment on the railroad cut at Gettysburg, filmed and narrated by Gettysburg expert Frank P. Marrone Jr.

Additionally, Eric is the manager and editor of “The Iron Brigade in Media,” a page dedicated to preserving the memory and honor of the men of the 2nd Wisconsin, 6th Wisconsin, 7th Wisconsin, 19th Indiana, and 24th Michigan Infantry Regiments from our civil war.  You can find his not-so-frequent posts on the Iron Brigade at www.facebook.com/Ironbrigademedia

    Aloha,

Thanks for liking Disco Kitty Cat. My eyesight is so poor these days, I had to do a double take when reading “The End; Pungent; Genial” as I thought it was porn. Must purchase readers!!

Dear Eric, thanks for your recent visits to my latest blog. I came over to find out something about you, and became very emotional. I so appreciate that you’re invested in “helping” people–thank you. And your book sounds very interesting to me. I do know of a new publisher (Christian books)–but you may be looking for something else, or more, or different. Again, thank you for your visits–as I get more posts up, you may find other poetry of interest. God bless you.

  14. I wish you the best with your book! And thanks for the follow 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope I inspired some thought. That is my biggest goal, even for my Sunday personal posts.

I presume that you are somewhere in Wisconsin although you do not provide enough detail for someone in Arizona to immediately understand where to go to see your sport of Frizz. Otherwise, it looks interesting..

  25. Thank you for stopping by to my blog. I honestly started blogging for therapy. I’m glad you liked one of my posts, as I thought no one would want to read what I talk about. Your blog is great by the way!

  26. Thanks for the like. The story continues every day.

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for liking my post! I really, really appreciate it 🙂

  39. AliciaTW says:

Hi Eric! I was so surprised and delighted to see your ‘like’ on my post. Thank you! As a non-US publisher and author who is discovering (and blogging) the process of getting published in the States, I know from experience that it is not easy. I am sure, however, with your extraordinary background and the way you reach out to people, you’ll find the agent you need. Feel free to send your book to me for a possible endorsement.

  40. writesofdan says:

I am in awe of your impressive resume, I will definitely be checking out the rules to Frizz, maybe I can start the first UK Frizz league if one doesn’t already exist. Thanks for liking my weird little story 🙂

  41. Hi Eric – thanks for the like on my ramshackle American Story…I have a long running Civil War research fascination myself and will remain interested to see how your book turns out. Is there a complete version of that documentary somewhere?

  42. dsanjoy says:

  43. Jackie says:

Thank you for visiting my blog! I appreciate it very much. 🙂

  44. bowmanauthor says:

Thanks for stopping by bowmanauthor.com. Very impressed with your site and your Civil War book. Has it been professionally edited? That helps a lot with finding an agent. I’m a big history buff and would want to read and review your book, when available. Let me know if you need editorial support. Check out my editorial page. I can format and publish as eBook to get you started. Print master for hard or softcopy. I wasn’t going to take on anymore jobs till Fall, but your book needs recognition. Great subject.

  45. Thanks for stopping by my blog, Eric. I love Civil War history as well. I’m from Missouri and as everyone knows, Missouri was as divided as any state during the war. Contrats on finishing your novel and good luck with it. Something someone told me – if you write a novel you’re not an aspiring author. You’re an author.

  46. divyaa68 says:

Hi Eric! Thanks a bunch for having a look at my composition and am glad that you liked it. Really, your site is pretty impressive and unique! You are a political speaker…good to know! Even I’ve got a great interest in world politics! By the way, am a budding professional social worker. 🙂

  47. Nice site! Thanks for stopping by Leighton Literature.
